Queen of Peace Senior High School's P.T.A Constructs Borehole For The School

The Parents Teachers Association (P.T.A) for Queen of Peace Senior High School of Nadowli in the Upper West Region, as part of its support for development of the school, has constructed a borehole to solve water issues in the school. Speaking to the media during the official handing over of the borehole to the school, on Wednesday April 26, 2023, the P.TA chairperson Mr. Lankor Orlando states that, there have been several challenges that bedevil the school and notable among them is inadequate manual water pumps which results in water crisis anytime there is power outage, hence the decision of the P.T.A to mobilize funds from parents to construct a borehole for the school.  He however stated that, the P·T·A has since supported the school in numerous ways such as extension of lights and water to their P.T.A teacher's bungalow, provision of street bulbs, equipping the school's security personnels with torches, safety boots, rain coats among others. Associations are bodies that individuals create for themselves and to use them to champion, promote and protect their interests. In Ghana, Article 21 (1) (e) of the 1992 constitution gives individual the right to join any association. However, workers are limited to choosing associations within their work environment.  It is against this backdrop that some workers join Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) to protect and promote their interest.Members want to see improved conditions of service to better their lives and families and also to mitigate the high cost living condition and others. Speaking to the media during the donation, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilaah says the performance of students in the constituency is sinking and as a teacher and Member of Parliament he gets worried over the abysmal performance of students in the constituency, hence his decision to donate textbooks so as to improve the educational standard in the constituency.
