The GRASAG Judiciary Board has annulled the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIIDS) GRASAG elections following an election petition filed by one of the contenders and 10 others.  The petitioners alleged irregularities, fraud, and a lack of credibility in the electoral register, among other issues. The petition was filed under the GRASAG constitution, which gives parties the right to challenge the validity of an election after the release of provisional results. The election was held on 2nd May 2026. The presidential race was fiercely contested between Magnus Balanoe Sunnabo and Mathew Azaang. On 3rd May 2026, the Electoral Commission released the provisional results as mandated by the constitution.  Mr. Mathew Azaang won with 395 votes, while Mr. Magnus Balanoe Sunnabo trailed with 394 votes—a difference of just one vote.   The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has once again demonstrated his commitment to party development by donating Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC20,000) to cover two years' rent for the Upper West Regional Youth Secretariat. Nadowli Community Team which doubled as the host community has been crowned overall champions for the second time in the second edition of the Azumah Inter-Community Football Gala which took place on the 3rd and 4th of December 2022 in Nadowli, the district capital of the Nadowli/Kaleo District. A group calling itself, Forum for Public Sector Associations and Unions says the communique from the minister of labour and employment is only a surprise to them and remains a unilateral declaration from the ministry.  In a release disassociating itself, it says that it never made inputs to the communique announcing the "Kwahu declaration" for which reason it cannot associate itself to the so called declaration.

 Prices of petroleum products are expected to shoot up by at least 5 percent from Wednesday, March 16, 2022, the Institute for Energy Security (IES) has projected. In its projections for the March 2022 Second Pricing Window, which will take effect from March 16, 2022, to March 31, 2022, the IES said the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will go up by 3 percent whereas petrol and diesel would go up by 5 percent and 9 percent respectively. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Fritz Moses, Research Analyst, IES, attributed the projected increment in prices of petroleum products to what he described as the “sharp” rise in fuel prices on the international market and “sharp” depreciation of the Cedi against the US Dollar in the just-ended window. Currently, petrol and diesel are selling at an average of GH¢8.2 per liter at the pumps. It must be some good news for the owner of Group Ndoum, Dr Papa Kwasi Ndoum as charges of money laundering against his company have been outrightly dismissed after a fierce legal banter. Dr Papa Kwasi Ndoum has made the revelation through his facebook wall that reads "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future- Jeremiah 29:11." He takes solace in the biblical reference and with one can be deduced as an obvious celebration.   Even though Honourable Christine Bombanye Amadu was renominated "on reasonable ground" after she failed to secure the 2/3 votes of all Assembly Members who were present and voted, Assembly members in Jirapa have for the third time rejected the nomination of Honourable Christine Bombanye Amadu as Municipal Chief Executive. Out of the fifty-two (52) Assembly members who were present and participated in the confirmation exercise, voted 30 YES and 21 voted NO.   The Board of the National Communication Authority has authorised a number of radio stations, including the famous Radio Gold, which was closed down in 2017. Radio God which was critical on the current government was closed down after an audit conducted in 2017. Many efforts by the station to regain its license proved futile. It is now refreshing to followers of the station, which has since been operating online, as government through the National Communication Authority Board, has okayed the operation of the station. The activist has catalogued a number of allegations against the nominee, describing her as "incompetent".   Integrity is the ability to stand by an idea in truth, principle and unrelenting commitment. Largely, integrity is a product of a process keenly and deliberately pursued irrespective of challenges. It is never an event. It may take decades to build integrity.  Conversely, integrity can be destroyed within seconds. It is the more reason why everyone must develop integrity and guard same even at the last drop of your blood. A man without integrity is an overly drank man who stumbles around unconsciously. He knows no shame and see good and bad as normal. His thoughts and dreams are those that unfairly undermine others for his own gains. As young people, we ought to be mindful of the journey we are pursuing. It is a long but thorny journey. Much of integrity is needed not half way but the entire journey.   Workers of the first and only radio station in Jirapa, Gangaa 94.3 have resorted to a strike action over reasons of non-issuance of appointment letters and non-payment of salaries since they started work with the media station. According to sources, since January, 2021, all those who have worked for the station have not received any remuneration, a reason staff therefore unanimously decided to embark on an indefinite strike starting today 21/07/2021.  According to a Staff who spoke with Jacob Ziema of Straight News on ground of anonymity, S/he explained the strike action was their last resort after management failed to make any conscious efforts to meet their request for appointment letters and payment of their promised monthly salaries. According to him/her, they (workers)  have realized that management doesn't care about their welfare even though the station has generated enough funds which part could be used to pay them wages to keep them more efficient on the job.
