KOBINE FESTIVAL: LAWRA MP CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO COMPLETE ABANDONED PROJECTS

The Member of Parliament for  Greater Lawra constituency Honourable Bede A. Ziedeng has urged government to complete abandoned projects, especially  the Dikpe Bridge in the Lawra Constituency. He said since its sod- cutting by President Nana Akuffo Addo in November 2020 in the run up to the 2020 elections amidst  pomp  and pageantry, and which was  expected to have been completed in 24 months, has stalled and no work has commenced at all. Infact there has been " no show" at all.  Honourable Bede Ziedeng gave this admonition to government when he delivered his speech at the 45th edition of the Kobine Festival in Lawra. Honourable Bede Ziedeng also touched on developmental projects embarked upon  by him since he assumed office in 2020. These ranged from education, energy, health. Agriculture and roads. SPEAKER BAGBIN SUPPORTS CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT AND CONTINUITY

The Rt. Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin, Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic has made a cash donation of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc50,000.00) to the Chiefs and people of the Upper West Region through the Center for National Culture (CNC) in support of efforts being made to revive the cherished culture and traditions of the people. He made this donation during the climax of the Upper West Cultural Week Celebration which came off yesterday at the Jubilee Park in Wa, through a delegation of staff from his office. The Upper West Regional office of the CNC is currently preparing a team to participate in the National Competition of Traditional Dance and Culture at Cape Coast next month.

DBI: The People of Fian Launched A new Traditional Festival.

  The people of Fian, in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa district in the Upper West Region, yesterday celebrated a maiden traditional festival known as "Danzena Kulugri" festival.  The newly instituted festival is the initiative of the chief of the area, Fian -Naa Bambieu Baping and his elders, to protect the history, values and tradition of the community and to use same as vehicle of community development.  Hundreds of sons and daughters gathered for the maiden event as the youth showcased their knowledge of the history of the community through drama. Various dancing groups also added to the euphoria of the celebration.  The community is known for its great tradition.
