  The Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, Rt Hon S K Bagbin has given his assurance to the leaders of Law Students Union of the University for Business and Integrated Development Studies, to support the advancement of the Faculty. He gave this assurance after the leadership of the Law Students Union paid a courtesy call on him at his Resident in Wa, to congratulate him on his successful instalation as a Development chief by the Wa Traditional Council and also to use the opportunity to discuss teething challenges of the UBIDS Faculty of Law.  The president of the Law Students Union, Mr Nerous Daguah, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, congratulated the Rt Hon Speaker for the many legacy projects he has been doing for the good people of Upper West Region. The Parent Teacher's Association of Birifoh Senior High School, yesterday, 21st June, 2023 handed over a newly constructed block to the school. Speaking at a short ceremony to handover the facility, the PTA through Mr Sierzoola Robert, said that, it was a dream come true to handover the facility to the school to help ameliorate the challenge of infrastructural deficit.  He also indicated that the Association shall continue to use any levies to the benefit of the school and that they shall continue to help the management of the school to enable the school reach a boarding status.  He admonished students and teachers to take very good care of the facility.  The Chief for Birifoh, Naa Victor Debome Ganaa V pledged his continuous support for the school and that he would continue to urge sons and daughters from the area to help the school develop to its maximum. The Parents Teachers Association (P.T.A) for Queen of Peace Senior High School of Nadowli in the Upper West Region, as part of its support for development of the school, has constructed a borehole to solve water issues in the school. Speaking to the media during the official handing over of the borehole to the school, on Wednesday April 26, 2023, the P.TA chairperson Mr. Lankor Orlando states that, there have been several challenges that bedevil the school and notable among them is inadequate manual water pumps which results in water crisis anytime there is power outage, hence the decision of the P.T.A to mobilize funds from parents to construct a borehole for the school.  He however stated that, the P·T·A has since supported the school in numerous ways such as extension of lights and water to their P.T.A teacher's bungalow, provision of street bulbs, equipping the school's security personnels with torches, safety boots, rain coats among others.   Dr. Mark Malangko and his wife Valeria Malangko, as part of their benevolence to students in remote communities have on Friday, February 25, 2023 donated text books and solar reading lamps to schools at Charikpong in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of Upper West Region. At the durbar in Charikpong, Mr. and Mrs. Malangko donated 1,460 text books of which 730 are mathematics and 730 being English language for all upper primaries including 952 solar reading lamps for students in the various Junior High Schools at Charikpong and its surrounding communities.   Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly on Tuesday 10, 2023 hands over furniture to Nadowli-Kaleo District Education Service as a measure to bridge the insufficient furniture gap among schools in the district. The Nadowli-Kaleo District Education Service received from the assembly a total of 1,300 furniture comprising of 600 dual desks, 600 chairs and 100 hexagonal tables for 9 newly constructed basic schools and kindergartens across the district. A 23 year old level 200 student of the McCoy College of Education has the bragging right of being the crown owner of their famous SRC sponsored beauty pageant. This year's contest saw seven beautiful young ladies battling it out in an unprecedentedly fierce contest.  The multitalented dark-skinned lady however distinguished herself beating her closest contender Lawrencia Abea.  Benedicta got the thousands who gathered at the McCoy Assembly Hall amazed with her enviable fashion and design skills on stage.   The former SRC President of McCoy College of Education, Mr. Dominic Angbangna in his address to the students of the College, stated that one  of the surest ways of making teacher education a catalyst for national development is that presevice and inservice teachers should see teaching as their work and not their job. He said this when  he was addressing the audience on the climax of their 6th SRC Week celebration dated 20th August, 2022 in the school's pavellion. He added " when you see teaching as your work, you are committed to it,  you own it, you make it part of you and you will do everything possible to protect it.     The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has stated that Parliament is working towards the creation of a Museum and an Archival Department to enable the institution to preserve and share with citizens, relics of the Legislature.   The youth of Pulbaa, a community of the Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI) district in the Upper West region has on Tuesday January 18th 2022 donated relief items to the Ghana Education Service of DBI to be given to Pulbaa primary and Day Nursery during their "My First Day in School" ceremony.   The Member of Parliament for Nadowli/Kaleo, Hon. Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service in the District has organized snap extra classes for this years BECE candidates in the District. The MP committed a little over thirteen thousand Ghana cedis to cater for motivation of teachers and fuel to enable the District Education Directorate adequately monitor the revision classes. The exercise covered all schools within the constituency and took place every other weekend over a six-week period In recent times the overall performance of candidates at the BECE level in the district has been poor and gives cause to worry. The headteacher of the Nanga Primary School in the Nadowli, Kaleo  district, Peter Nanzoninge  has organized a community durbar to update the the catchment area of the school on developments in the school. The well attended program provided a platform to share ideas on the many challeges affecting teaching and learning and education in general.
