The Digital Parliament, a popular youth group based in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, today, visited the Bahass Mental Home and Rehabilitation Center in Wa, Upper West Region, to show their support. They donated 5 bags of rice, 15 packs of assorted soft drinks, 4 gallons of frytol oil, and GHC 2,000 cash to the foundation. The founder and CEO of Bahass Foundation, Mr. Eliasu Baba Yussif, expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed for further support to complete their permanent structure, currently under construction. The foundation provides care and support to mentally ill individuals, offering food, clothing, and medical treatment. The Digital Parliament's CEO and President, Mr. Yakubu Karim, emphasized their commitment to helping marginalized groups and promised to continue supporting the foundation.   The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has extended his philanthropic services to members of the Upper West Chapter of the Ghana Federation of Disable. He has donated 20 wheelchairs for the federation for onward distribution to its members. Out of the 20 wheelchairs, two were electric.  The head of Ghana's legislature extended this compassionate gesture to the Federation subsequent to a visit by the new leadership of the federation to introduce themselves and discuss the numerous challenges bedeviling  members of the federation. A heavy rainfall battered the city of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana causing major disruptions for students, lecturers, commuters, and traders. The downpour started at around 2 pm and continued for several hours, leading to a chaotic situation in several parts of the city. One of the worst-hit areas was the stretch leading to the ROB at Aamusted, where students and lecturers were unable to attend lectures between the hours of 2 pm to 5 pm. The heavy rains made it impossible for vehicles to pass through the area and students and lecturers were left stranded. The situation was not much different in Apatrapa, where commuters and traders also suffered a similar fate. Several roads in the area were flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through. Many people were forced to abandon their vehicles and walk through the flooded streets to get to their destinations. The downpour serves as a reminder of the need for better infrastructure to deal with heavy rainfall in the city. ...

  Inspection on ongoing Member of Parliament for Daffiama Bussie Issa Constituency, Hon. Dr. Sebastian Sandaare on Saturday, 20th May, 2023 visited some ongoing projects in his constituency to see progress of work done.  Hon. Sandaare visited the Bussie Maternity block, a community self initiated  project of which he is supporting. The block has been roofed awaiting other fixes. Catherine Lankono has on Thursday, 11 May, 2023 commissioned a CHPs facility for Da, a suburb of Nadowli in the Nadowli-Kaleo district of the Upper West Region.   The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly, through the Disability Common Fund (DCF) Program, which is geared towards alleviating poverty among Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana has on Thursday May 11, 2023 donated items to some PWDs in the district.   The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa NDC Constituency Executives on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Hon Dr Sebastian Sandaare today, Thursday 30th March, 2023 visited the people of Daffiama to commiserate with the affected people of the heavy rainstorm that riffed off over 80 houses including the District Ghana Education Service Office and two other schools. On Monday 27th March, 2023, at about 4:00PM, a heavy rainstorm struck the community with many houses riffed off, others collapsed.   GRNMA Donating cheque to a member The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives’ Association (GRNMA) through its district branch in the Nadowli/Kaleo area has donated an amount of Six Thousand Ghana cedis to a member as fire disaster support. As part of the initiatives of giving back to society, the 2022 Kings and Queens of McCoy College of Education, Nadowli have on Sunday 12 March 2023 donated a number of items to support children at the St. Joseph’s Orphanage in Jirapa. The orphanage located at Jirapa in the Jirapa District of the Upper West Region currently has 15 children, comprising of 7 females 8 males. The items donated include soaps, washing powder, tins of Milo, Nido, Sardines, biscuits, toilet rolls, clothes, tomato paste, an undisclosed amount of money among other items.
