DCE Donates to Fian KG & Primary, Breaks Ground for New Block

The District Chief Executive for Daffiama, Bussie, Issa,  Hon. James Wor , has distributed school uniforms and learning materials to students of Fian KG and Primary School as part of his efforts to support education in the district. The donation was made during a visit to the school, where he emphasized the importance of education and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, noting that their future depends on their current efforts. The distribution was a sideline activity of a sod-cutting ceremony for a new KG block, a project initiated by the DCE to address the school's pressing need for more space. According to the DCE, the current KG facility is congested, and the new block is expected to provide a more conducive learning environment for the increasing number of students. Fian Youth Association Supports Fian Health Center

Representatives of the Fian Youth Association recently visited the Fian Health Center to discuss challenges affecting healthcare delivery with staff and donate essential items, including mattresses, bed sheets, a working table, chairs, and a wall clock. The youth leaders assured the facility of their continued support and called on government and the District Assembly to expand and upgrade the health center to a polyclinic, citing the increasing patient load and inadequate space. They noted that patients often have to be treated on the bare floor due to limited capacity. The Fian Health Center serves several communities and is a critical facility for emergency services, accident patients, and referrals. The youth group's donation and advocacy aim to improve primary healthcare in the district. Nadowli Kelo: DCE Breaks Ground for Gbankor Astroturf Construction

  The District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Haruna, has cut the sod for the construction of a multipurpose astroturf in Gbankor, a community in the Nadowli Kaleo District. This initiative aims to boost youth development and expand sporting facilities in the district. The district currently has one astroturf located at the McCoy College of Education, constructed with funding from the Rt. Hon. Speaker Bagbin and Ghana Gas. This new facility will complement the existing one, providing more opportunities for sports development and social activities. During the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Mary Haruna highlighted the benefits of the project, stating that it will provide a recreational space, attract businesses, and foster unity among the youth. NADOWLI KALEO DISTRICT NATIONAL AMBULANCE SERVICE VEHICLE IS OUT OF COMMISSION

  The Nadowli Kaleo District Ambulance Service is currently grounded due to worn-out tyres, posing a significant risk to patients in need of emergency medical care. The vehicle has been out of commission for over some months, and community members are urging authorities to intervene. The ambulance had previously received tyres from Azumah Resources, but they are still in use three years later, highlighting the need for replacement. The community is calling on the District Assembly, the Member of Parliament, and other benevolent organizations to provide assistance. This situation is not unique to Nadowli Kaleo, as the Upper West Region's National Ambulance Service has been facing operational challenges, including broken-down vehicles and inadequate resources. This contradiction does not end at the workplace. It extends into marriage as well. One raises valid reasons for a release or understanding, yet these concerns are overlooked, treated as insignificant, or dismissed entirely. What then is this situation termed? A person battles with her mental health because these are issues that deserve great concern. The weight of being unheard, unseen, and unsupported becomes overwhelming. The Unit of Nadowli District Hospital organised a dinner and awards ceremony to recognise the outstanding contributions of its staff members. The event, which brought together key stakeholders, was aimed at boosting staff morale and encouraging excellence in service delivery. The occasion was graced by notable guests, including the outgoing District Health Director, Madam Phoebe Balagumyetime,  Medical Director, Dr. Emmanuel Opoku Amponsah, and Assembly Member for Kalserah Electoral Area, Mr. Boniface Kpan.
