DBI Assembly's Sanitation Efforts: A Model for Others?
The DBI Assembly, under the leadership of Hon James Wor, should be commended for its commendable efforts in sanitation management. Sanitation is a vital aspect of governance, given its direct impact on public health. Effective sanitation management is indispensable to the well-being of citizens, as it helps prevent diseases and reduces healthcare costs. The adage "prevention is better than cure" is particularly relevant in this context. Over the years, sanitation and environmental management have remained a conundrum. Despite government efforts, many Local Assemblies have not prioritized environmental cleanliness, often relying heavily on private companies like Zionlion. However, the NDC government introduced the National Sanitation Day initiative to promote community involvement and environmental cleanliness.
