Speaker of Parliament Assures Law Students Of His Commitment to Develop The Law Faculty of UBIDS.

  The Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, Rt Hon S K Bagbin has given his assurance to the leaders of Law Students Union of the University for Business and Integrated Development Studies, to support the advancement of the Faculty. He gave this assurance after the leadership of the Law Students Union paid a courtesy call on him at his Resident in Wa, to congratulate him on his successful instalation as a Development chief by the Wa Traditional Council and also to use the opportunity to discuss teething challenges of the UBIDS Faculty of Law.  The president of the Law Students Union, Mr Nerous Daguah, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, congratulated the Rt Hon Speaker for the many legacy projects he has been doing for the good people of Upper West Region. He also presented a number of challenges including  inadequate infrastructure for the Faculty. YOUTH GROUP JUSTIFIES THE SACKING OF DR. KWAKU AFRIYIE FROM THE CHAMBER OF PARLIAMENT BY THE SPEAKER

  In a release dated Thursday, August 1, 2024, a youth group based in the Upper West Region called Nubalanang Group has justified the  decision by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to dismiss Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso from the Chamber of the parliament on the 22nd of July, 2024. According to the group the decision by the Rt. Hon. Speaker is a measure to ensure sanity in the house of Parliament and not a conscious effort to disrespect the member of parliament as sighted in a statement by the New Patriotic Party in the Western North Region, "the essence of the decision was anchored in the grounds of upholding parliamentary decorum" part of the statement reads.
