Background

This university emerged from the former University for Development (UDS) Wa campus. The Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) was established in 2019 by an Act of Parliament (Act 1001) and came into being in May 2020 with its main campus in Bamahu, Wa.

The School of Law came into being in the 2022/23 academic year. The siting of the law faculty in SDD-UBIDS in Wa provides a unique geographic site for legal education in the five regions of northern Ghana. To many, it is a dream come true.

On 3rd March, 2023, the School of Law was duly launched with 106 students.
