Headteacher of Nanga Primary Holds Community Durbar to Tackle Challenges of the School.



The headteacher of the Nanga Primary School in the Nadowli, Kaleo  district, Peter Nanzoninge  has organized a community durbar to update the the catchment area of the school on developments in the school.


The well attended program provided a platform to share ideas on the many challeges affecting teaching and learning and education in general.


Addressing the gathering, the headteacher, Mr Peter Nanzoninge presented several worrying developments that affect the future of the area. He bemoaned the high rate of school dropout as a result of the patronage of illegal mining by students, prevalence of teenage pregnancy.


The community members resolved to help the school confront the issues with urgency. Indeed, a five member mobilization taskforce was formed to help address the issue of school dropout.


The Assembly Member for the area, Hon. Esung Gabriel (officer) called on the Ghana Education to establish a Junior High School in the area to address the challenge of students habing to walk several kilometers to attend JHS elsewhere.


The chairman of the occasion Hon Farouk Bafaate, a former Assembly Member under whose reign the school was established pledged his continuous support for the school. He also urged parents to support the school by ensuring that their wards attend school regularly. 


The community used the opportunity to appeal to individuals and organizations, sons and daughters, NGOs, Companies, Azumah Resources LTD, the District Assembly and others to come to the aid of the kids for the future of their kids remain crucial to them.
