Speaker Bagbin Extends Financial Support To Dagaare Language and Cultural Development Conference.

The Speaker of Ghana's Parliament, Rt Hon S. K Bagbin extended financial support to organizers of this year's Dagaare Language and Cultural Development Conference of the Upper West Region. A team representing the Speaker of Parliament at the event held at Wa,  GNAT conference Hall, handed over a cash amount of ¢10,000.00 as Mr. Speaker's support in resourcing the work of the association.  The Rt. Hon Alban Bagbin through his team, admonished  all stakeholders on the need to support and equip the association with the necessary resources to safeguard the cultural heritage of the Upper West Region. He also commended the efforts of the association for organizing the Second Biennial Conference. Volunteers For Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah Donate Essential Supplies to Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital

Patron of VAMS (left) handing over the items to the hospital's medical sup (right) A youth development group by name, Volunteers For Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah (VAMS) on September 14th 2023 has donated essential supplies to support the health care delivery in the hospital.  VAMS happens to be a testament to the power of compassion and community involvement, a group of dedicated volunteers. Through their generous donations, the group aimed to provide much-needed consumables for the hospital as a way to ultimately contribute to improved healthcare outcomes for people of the district and beyond.  The collective effort led by this group resulted in substantial donations that will go a long way in supporting the Nadowli District Hospital's vital work. Hon. Dr. Sebastian Sandaare Bemoans the Deplorable State of Some Roads in his Constituency

  The member of parliament for Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI), Hon. Dr. Sebastian M. Sandaare has on Tuesday October 10, 2023, during a visit to his Constituency, expressed his displeasure over the deplorable nature of some major linking roads in the DBI Constituency.  A road which linked DBI District and Jirapa Municipal was washed off by a torrential rainfall in 2021 therefore cutting off people in DBI from accessing some parts of the constituency as well as Jirapa Municipal and the vice versa. This situation has remained same till this year 2023 hence, posing threat to the people of both Constituencies. KOBINE FESTIVAL: LAWRA MP CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO COMPLETE ABANDONED PROJECTS

The Member of Parliament for  Greater Lawra constituency Honourable Bede A. Ziedeng has urged government to complete abandoned projects, especially  the Dikpe Bridge in the Lawra Constituency. He said since its sod- cutting by President Nana Akuffo Addo in November 2020 in the run up to the 2020 elections amidst  pomp  and pageantry, and which was  expected to have been completed in 24 months, has stalled and no work has commenced at all. Infact there has been " no show" at all.  Honourable Bede Ziedeng gave this admonition to government when he delivered his speech at the 45th edition of the Kobine Festival in Lawra. Concerns and Requests Regarding Azumah Resources' Operations in Our Communities

On Saturday, October 7th 2023, three communities; Nanga, Yiziiri and Tangasia had an engagement with Azumah Resources, putting before the company some pressing issues and asking some critical questions regarding its operation within the area.  Mr. Ankrah Cletus who presented the Speech On behalf of the chiefs, landlords, elders, and the youth of the three communities, which was covered by Tumpaani Fm, spelled out some of their grievances concerning Azumah Resources' operations. NDC UPPER WEST REGIONAL CHAIRMAN STORMS KOBINE

The Upper West Regional Chairman of NDC, Chairman Abdul Nasir Saani (aka Bunas) arrived in Lawra for this year’s Kobine festival which is celebrated by the Paramount Chief of Lawra, Naa Puowelle Karbo III and his people. The Chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman and several other Regional executives including the Regional Election Director. On arrival, they were joined by the member of Parliament Lawyer Bede Ziedeng and the constituency chairman, Chairman Bati Joe with his executives. This year’s Kobine festival is the 45th festival. Over thousands of sons and daughters of Lawra from the diaspora and across the country have trooped to Lawra to celebrate this year’s Kobine festival.
