KOBINE FESTIVAL: LAWRA MP CALLS ON GOVERNMENT TO COMPLETE ABANDONED PROJECTS

The Member of Parliament for  Greater Lawra constituency Honourable Bede A. Ziedeng has urged government to complete abandoned projects, especially  the Dikpe Bridge in the Lawra Constituency. He said since its sod- cutting by President Nana Akuffo Addo in November 2020 in the run up to the 2020 elections amidst  pomp  and pageantry, and which was  expected to have been completed in 24 months, has stalled and no work has commenced at all. Infact there has been " no show" at all.

Honourable Bede Ziedeng gave this admonition to government when he delivered his speech at the 45th edition of the Kobine Festival in Lawra.

Honourable Bede Ziedeng also touched on developmental projects embarked upon  by him since he assumed office in 2020. These ranged from education, energy, health. Agriculture and roads. He particularly mentioned how he lobbied for the re-award of the contract for the tarring of the Lawra - Domwine-Hain road which was terminated in 2018, but which he has now restored through  lobbying the Ministry of Roads and Highways. This drew a loud applause from the enthusiastic audience  for his efforts.

He pledged further to continue to lobby for more development projects for the people of Greater Lawra Constituency to improve their standard of living as the  Member of Parliament.

The Kobine Festival is one of the oldest and most celebrated in Northern Ghana. It is an annual festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Lawra including neighbouring Districts and Burkina Faso. It is celebrated to mark the end of a bumper harvest.
