Former Upper West Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Prosper Puo-Ire has established that, the upcoming 2024 general election is the Republic of Ghana against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).   The incumbent Assembly Member for the GORIYIRI ELECTORAL AREA, Hon Nestor Mwinterebo has finally declared his ambition to go for a second run in the upcoming District Assembly Elections.  The young leader who is widely admired across the Nadowli Kaleo District, will be relying on his track record for the election.  He is known for his communal spirit and has successfully rallied his people for various community initiated activities and projects. His leadership also projected the culture of the people. For instance, the annual Kandomwine Bawaa has gained some national recognition under his innovative leadership. According to a Facebook post announcing the intention, the Hon Member says he has consulted major stakeholders before taking the decision.   The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has extended his philanthropic services to members of the Upper West Chapter of the Ghana Federation of Disable. He has donated 20 wheelchairs for the federation for onward distribution to its members. Out of the 20 wheelchairs, two were electric.  The head of Ghana's legislature extended this compassionate gesture to the Federation subsequent to a visit by the new leadership of the federation to introduce themselves and discuss the numerous challenges bedeviling  members of the federation. The discussion centered on affordable and accessible health care, policies and plans to support education and skill training, as well as, legislative campaign for an inclusive society for people with disabilities.  The donation of the wheelchairs was therefore an initial support to addressing some of the challenges of some members of the federation in the home region of the head of the legislative arm of government.
