New KG Block Commissioned in Nadowli to Ease Overcrowding and Improve Early Education

  The District Chief Executive for Nadowli Kaleo District on May 14th commissioned a newly constructed Kindergarten block for the Nadowli Model Day Nursery, marking another step in the district’s push to expand access to early childhood education. The commissioning took place at around 12 noon, with traditional leaders, Education officials, parents, teachers, and students in attendance.  Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE said the project forms part of the district’s medium-term development plan to “touch all communities within Nadowli Kaleo.” She explained that the district is rolling out projects “in bits” and moving from community to community based on identified needs. “We have a lot in our developmental plan. The medium-term plans have captured a lot of communities that we’re going to handle,” she said. The GRASAG Judiciary Board has annulled the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIIDS) GRASAG elections following an election petition filed by one of the contenders and 10 others.  The petitioners alleged irregularities, fraud, and a lack of credibility in the electoral register, among other issues. The petition was filed under the GRASAG constitution, which gives parties the right to challenge the validity of an election after the release of provisional results. The election was held on 2nd May 2026. The presidential race was fiercely contested between Magnus Balanoe Sunnabo and Mathew Azaang. On 3rd May 2026, the Electoral Commission released the provisional results as mandated by the constitution.  Mr. Mathew Azaang won with 395 votes, while Mr. Magnus Balanoe Sunnabo trailed with 394 votes—a difference of just one vote. Hon. Rose Puozaa Unites Dakpaa and Tuori Through Memorial Match

  A football match meant for goals delivered something far greater, peace and unity, when Hon. Rose Puozaa, Assembly Member for the Dakpaa-Tuori Electoral Area, brought together the youth of both communities for a powerful memorial game on April 19, 2026. According to the Assembly Member, Dakpaa and Tuori have shared bonds of kinship, yet moments of youthful rivalry, especially during football and other social gatherings, have sometimes sparked tension. Determined to rewrite that story, Hon. Rose Puozaa organised the maiden memorial football match, which stands out as a sport at the heart of the rivalry, in order to inspire reconciliation. The match, held in memory of the late Hon. Mathias Asoma Puozaa, a revered former Assembly Member and Member of Parliament known for uniting people, carried deep emotional significance.
