SPEAKER BAGBIN RESCUES UWR YOUTH WING SECRETARIAT

 


The Rt Hon Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has once again demonstrated his commitment to party development by donating Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC20,000) to cover two years' rent for the Upper West Regional Youth Secretariat. This donation also includes six months of electricity and DStv bills.


The Speaker's support is a significant boost to the Youth Wing, enabling them to focus on their mission to develop the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region. The Regional Youth Organizer, Hon Basiara Sankara, expressed his gratitude, stating that the Speaker's generosity is not new, as he has consistently supported the Youth Wing in the past.


"This timely support is a testament to the Speaker's dedication to the party's growth and development," Hon Sankara said. "He is more than a father figure to us, and his contributions to party development in the Upper West Region are truly commendable."


The Speaker's efforts have been instrumental in retooling the Youth Wing in the Upper West Region.


It will be recalled that the Rt Hon Speaker secured the Secretariat in 2023 for the Youth Wing, after an appeal by the Regional Youth organizer , Basiera Saankara for an office space. This latest donation will undoubtedly motivate the youth to continue working towards the party's success.

Community Development talk show bench of Tumpaani Radio at Nadowli in the Upper West Region has discovered that a Mitsubishi brand vehicle with registration number, GV-236-12 belonging to Nadowli/Kaleo Health Directorate in the Nadowli/Kaleo district of the Upper West Region has not been at the post for over a year and a half but could not also be found anywhere around the facility. An investigation was initiated by the team to figure out the whereabouts of the vehicle which revealed that, the vehicle was not at post. Our investigation team began the probe by confirming from the Upper West Regional transport office that the said Mitsubishi vehicle with registration number GV-236-12 was allocated to the Nadowli/Kaleo Health Directorate but could not ascertain whether the vehicle was still at post or grounded. The Unit of Nadowli District Hospital organised a dinner and awards ceremony to recognise the outstanding contributions of its staff members. DCE Donates to Fian KG & Primary, Breaks Ground for New Block

The District Chief Executive for Daffiama, Bussie, Issa,  Hon. James Wor , has distributed school uniforms and learning materials to students of Fian KG and Primary School as part of his efforts to support education in the district. The donation was made during a visit to the school, where he emphasized the importance of education and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, noting that their future depends on their current efforts. The distribution was a sideline activity of a sod-cutting ceremony for a new KG block, a project initiated by the DCE to address the school's pressing need for more space. According to the DCE, the current KG facility is congested, and the new block is expected to provide a more conducive learning environment for the increasing number of students.
