Every father is a legend and must be celebrated.

 

Every father should be celebrated on this faithful day of 20th June 2021 which marks the day set to be for fathers which we call father's day. My definition of a father is a male legend on earth however, Merriam Webster defines father as any male parent but I think it goes beyond just that. Every individual is brought to this planet by a man. I strongly believe this might call for a debate but I said so because, it is the man who impregnates a woman to give birth to a child. This process therefore makes fathers to be the ones behind our being on earth.

As I was growing up as a kid, I noticed that, every male child goes through some form of training so as to prepare him to take up responsibilities. As a guy, no matter how small you were, you were always given a hoe that will enable you learn farming. That is preparation to take responsibilities. You take care of all domestic animals in the family. This imbues in a guy, the caring and patience abilities to take over responsibilities as a father. You hunt to bring meat to the house for the preparation of delicious meal for the whole house . All are preparations to take responsibilities as a father some days to come. You were always told as a guy never to stand and allow any one beat you up and also never to cry even when you are hurt. This inculcates bravery in a guy to take over fatherly responsibilities. They tell you to respect every female you meet anywhere. The imparting of morals.

All these scenarios mean that men really have huge roles to play in our societies and therefore must go through thorough training to perform those tasks. So they must be honoured on this faithful and fantabulous day of fathers. With reference to the above definition of a father being a male parent, let us see what they go through as fathers. Being a father means you are the breadwinner of your family. And what this means is that, you must be the one to provide for your family's shelter, food, protection as well as imparting moral values in kids. A father in every family is seen as the highest decision making entity. This demands some level of intelligence to take up such role.

A father solves family disputes and pass reasonable judgements. This is because men, even in the beginning of time were endowed with so much wisdom to take up such role. Let us look at King Solomon and other men in the Bible who exhibited wisdom to its peak in decisions making. The bravery of a father makes his wife call on him to kill a snake or any harmful animal. Fathers are indeed legends in our societies.

Society rains insults on fathers who run away from responsibilities because of its tedious nature. The responsibility of fathers is so huge that nothing on this earth can be used to weigh its weight. Men in societies today are seen to be the ones to always die first before women. Even though  it is stereotyped, it remains the reality. So this means every father accepts to die for his people. What then do we need again to crown fathers as legends? I leave that to readers.

This date 20th June 2021 is set aside globally to celebrate fathers for their numerous and countless sacrifices and for taking huge responsibilities as fathers and therefore must be honoured. Every father remains a legend today and forever.

I hereby use this opportunity to wish a happy father's day to all fathers and potential fathers across the globe and to say thank you for your sacrifices. May God grand them long life.
