JIRAPA: Apply for permission or go back to school/ Office ~GES staff recruited for 2021 PHC warned




An anonymous whatsap message purported to be from the Jirapa Education Directorate has asked that all Ghana Education Service Staff who have been recruited by the Ghana Statistical Service to undertake the 2021 Population and Housing Census to apply for permission from the District Director.


According to the message, "it has come to the notice of the Directorate that some Ghana Education Service Staff have been recruited by the Ghana Statistical Service to undertake the Population and Housing Census without permission from the District Director"


"This is to inform all such GES Staff that you have up to Friday, 4th June, 2021 to apply for permission or go back to your school/office"


The message warned that "Those who refuse to abide by this directive will be withdrawn from the exercise or face any sanctions from the Ghana Education Service"


It further clarified Ghana Education Service Staff as all:

1.Teaching and Non-Teaching staff at the District Education Office.


2. Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of SHS


3. Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of Basic Schools 


4. NABCO Personnel in GES


5. National Service Personnel in GES


Many staff of the Ghana Education Service in the country have recruited as field officers as Ghana conducts its third population and Housing Census this year with data collection scheduled for the first half of 2021. 

Field work for the 2021 PHC is scheduled to begin on June 13, 2021 with June 27, 2021 as Census Night.

A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS 3 LIVES

  On September 16th, 2025 at around 11:20 am in Nadowli, A samyoung Vehicle moving from Jirapa to Techiman got into a fatal accident between an uncompleted fuel station in Nadowli along the Jirapa road close to a mechanic shop.  The Car with registration number AS-2684-16 had 18 passengers on board. 1 person who is a police officer going on a transfer was confirmed dead on the spot.  The remaining were rushed to the Nadowli District Hospital. Upon arrival at the Hospital, the medical Superintendent Doctor. Opoku confirmed two additional deaths bringing the told to 3 persons. The remaining 15 persons including kids are in a very critical condition at the Nadowli District Hospital receiving treatment.
