Hon. Sebastian M. Sandaare empowers Nadowli-Kaleo/ DBI students of UEW to be agents of change in their districts


The member of parliament for the Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI) constituency, Hon. Sebastian Sandaare encourages the Nadowli-Kaleo/DBI student’s union of the University of Education Winneba during their send off/ handing over ceremony which took place on the 14th of August 2021 to be agents of change in their various districts. According to Honourable, members of the union are the future leaders and so as a matter of fact should take part in leadership in the district and make a change regardless their age.

Advising students of the union on the need to Pursuing their dreams, the law maker established that the difficulties they face as students should not deter them from achieving their dreams however, they should fix their eyes on their goals and do not allow poverty to discourage them because people strived through poverty to be whom they are today. Citing himself as an example, he said if somebody’s background is worst than his then that means it is something that cannot be explained however he became a medical doctor. “Tell yourself you can make it” he added.

The honourable member of parliament in response to the cry of the outgoing president, Kaningenye Joseph on how hardship had prevented students from attending union meetings, he said he has heard his cry and that they will look into it however, leaders of the union should try as much as they can to always include everyone and let them feel part of the association.


The medical doctor and lawmaker concluded his speech by talking about Cerebral Spinal Meningitis (CSM) which according to him, is usually effective at the northern belt of Ghana which the Upper regions are included. He encourages all members to educate their people to avoid crowded environments and report early to the nearest hospital when they see any signs and symptoms of the disease.
