Mathias Yiryel vies for the Chairmanship of NAGRAT in the Upper West Region.

NAGRAT- OUR BELOVE CHAMPION OF TEACHER ACTIVISM

As a student and product of the Kwame Alorvi reign, it saddens me today that, that vociferous NAGRAT bequeathed to us by Mr. Alorvi, has been plunged into state of quagmire by some ‘death squad’ who other than the forward looking astitudeness but for their personal parochial interest saw to the pathetic current state of this Noble and value-based association.

Need we worry?

Yes because the direction of the current ship leaves much to be desired especially, in the Upper West Region where some marauders have succeeded in dwindling the fortunes of the association, grinding it to a near halt.

Relievingly, no because the comforter is at hand. Mathias Yiryel, a primus inter pares in his generation of NAGRAT leaders, offer that elusive HOPE we are looking for.

In the Nadowli-Kaleo-DBI Zone, where Mathias was the Zonal Chairman, there was a people centered approach to dealing with members against all odds and intimidation from the Region. This people centered approach saw to the establishment of a welfare scheme that came to the aide of members in some form of crises and many others I don’t want to bore you with.

Need we remind ourselves of the sorrowful departure of our dear brother, friend, colleague and member, Philbert Kuuare? Before the Regional and National leaders of NAGRAT could say jack, Chairman, so affectionately called, mobilised from the Zonal membership, some financial resources to support the Late Mr. Kuuare in his medical expenses while still pursuing both NAGRAT- Regional and National for more support to help our brother, friend and colleague.

The assistance never came until his demise when a cheque was purportedly signed in that regard. Till date, one cannot tell the whereabout of that cheque.

With or without a printer, motorbike and other ancillary facilities, Mr. Yiryel magically conjured resources (whether made available in its little form or not) to carry out the mandate of a Zonal Chairman.

Many have been the detractors who tried, hook or crook, to see to the downfall of this affable gem of a leader but regretted one way or the other for ‘attempting to kill’ an innocent soul under the armour of God. Faith, as they say, is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Such is the faith of Mr. Yiryel Mathias in NAGRAT.

I call on ALL delegates, to look no further in their quest for a better NAGRAT and VOTE vehemently for the non-regrettable future of this our beloved association.

With Mathias, We ALL Win

Shallom!!!
