Badu Ibrahim Ahmed, president elect for CoMMSA UEW

Badu Ibrahim Ahmed, a second year student of the school of Communication and Media Studies, popularly known in his department as Xholusion has been elected as the president for the Communication and Media Studies Student's Association (CoMSSA) in the University of Education Winneba.

The association has been in existence for a number of years, however it was initially made up of only post graduates in the Communication and Media Studies department until the undergraduates were included in July 2021 and Badu Ibrahim Ahmed happens to be the first undergraduate student to be elected as president in the history of the association.

The electing of executives for the association which took place on Wednesday 8th September 2021, was one of the most anticipative activity in the school as students of the association could not wait to see who wins the presidency. The presidency portfolio became the most competitive portfolio in the elections.

Three candidates contested for the presidency portfolio. They include, Moses Ntibi, Badu Ibrahim Ahmed and Moses Apobona Apana all in second year. At the end of the polls, Badu Ibrahim Ahmed emerged winner with 84 votes showing 45.65 percent followed by Moses Ntibi with 78 votes showing 42.39 percent and then Moses Apobona Apana with 22 votes showing 11.96 percent.

Xholusion triumphed in the elections after he popularized his agenda of making the school a business entity which in summary he puts as "CoMSSA is Xholusion". He again promised to paint the school's block in three months after winning power. Members of this great school, the School of Communication and Media Studies looks up to his administration in bringing to reality his policies.

The elections in general was peaceful.
