"REJECT HON CATHERINE LANKONO NOMINATION AS NDAOWLI KALEO DCE"- NPP ACTIVIST URGES ASSEMBLY MEMBERS.
A known NPP youth activist in the Nadowli, Kaleo constituency has urged stakeholders not to approve the nomination of Hon Catherine Lankono as the District Chief Executive for the second term.
The activist has catalogued a number of allegations against the nominee, describing her as "incompetent".
Issues of lack of transparency, profligacy, divisiveness and polical infedelity have been raised.
Read blow, the full statement released by the activist.
"I am Yengliareh Boniventure, a senior youth activist and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). A senior youth activist who believes in development and its continuation, but also abhors selfish and parochial leadership because such retards community growth and development.
I am compelled by circumstances to speak publicly against the reappointment of Hon. Catherine Lankonno. She simply does not deserve a second term, considering her competence, track record and contribution to the electoral fortunes of the NPP. I am sure many NPP activists know these naked facts but and perhaps lip tied for fears of victimization. The truth however is that, she has performed abysmally. There are but few reasons why I think she should be rejected to make way for a fresh blood that can make the party proud.
Misuse of district assembly common fund; she used a questionable gargantuan amount in the renovation of her bungalow which she has never slept in. As I type, she leaves the renovated bungalow locked and move to and fro Wa using the public purse.
Dividing the party in the constituency: Hon. Catherine have divided the party into two rivalry blocks, which is the Nadowli zone and the Kaleo zone with an interest best known to herself. This is unhealthy to the growth of the party.
She is not a unifier- she cannot bring the party together in the constituency. Hon. Catherine was one of the catalysts that was used to cause our defeat in the just ended election especially the parliamentary seat. This kind of parochial interest is inimical to the fortunes of the party.
She believes in nepotism and ethnocentrism that made her not be a good leader for the district.
In her last tenure of office, she auctioned almost all the assembly vehicle including the old D.C.E patrol to herself which is a clear example of a selfish leader.
She gave out school feeding program to unable and incompetent party folks who she think will support her in her bid to contest the parliamentary election. This has caused the party a lot, as opposition has used it as a point to condemn our beloved party.
Hon. Catherine also gave out school feeding to people who are not part and parcel of the district which is unfair. To be specific about 42 schools were given out to people who are not natives of our district yet party foot soldiers were denied.
She is not transparent, hence not accountable. I can give you a clear evidence where transparency and accountability were abused by Hon. Catherine. An amount of 50,000 Ghana cedis that was supposed to be used for some developmental projects in the district was misappropriated. In a meeting that was held between hers with some stakeholders (Assembly Members), our Hon. Catherine told them that, the aforementioned amount was received but used in serving their debts. This left members in the dark. Now where is the transparent in her statement?
She is not development oriented, this our Hon Catherine does not think of development and how important it is. She is busily amassing wealth and advancing her political interest. You may also go to the Assembly to see for yourself, the shoddy work done as renovation on the Assembly Conference Hall. It is pathetic.
Hon. Catherine used all the disaster items in the district assembly to do her politics during our last parliamentary election. That’s the main reason why there was no items to be released to affected people during the recent flood disaster. Only buckets and cups were the only items left for disaster victims.
They have never been precedence of giving any second term to even those who have performed when we became an autonomous district not to talk of non-performing D.C.E like Hon. Catherine Lankonno.
It will be a political blunder retaining a nonperforming D.C.E for the second time. The party will be destroyed and development will slow down, because the person are about to retain has no vision for development.
I therefore urge stakeholders to reject her nomination to pave way for fresh appointment.
…END…
THANK YOU

In fact i support that per the issues raised she cannot be our DCE because she mismanaged the office she hold. Another issues the fuel given to her to construct town i.e new roads and the fuel was no where to be found. For this stated reason she shouldn't be given the chance again.
