No salary for government workers who do not posses Ghana Cards effective from December 1 2021 - CAGD.

In a letter dated 12th October 2021, the Controller And Accountant-General's Department (CAGD) stated that taking effect from December 1 2021, any government worker who does not posses a Ghana Identification Card will not receive salary.

This, according to the CAGD, is an "effort to deliver speedy, secured and verified payroll services to government employees and pensioners"

In view of that, the CAGD is to collaborate with the National Identification Authority (NIA) to get a credible database of all government workers so as to ensure biometric and unique identification of all worker on the government's payroll.

The letter has been signed by Mr. Kwasi Kwaning Bosompem, Accountant General and so must be treated with urgency.
