Honourable Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri is ready to develop Jirapa~Honourable Gervase

Honourable Gervase Dogkotenga, the Assembly member for Nyenni Electoral Area in Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana has stated that Honourable Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri, the MCE for Jirapa Municipal is a young man who has the development of Jirapa at heart.

According to the outspoken Assembly member, Honourable Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri has cut down the cost of the renovation of his official bungalow including his office from over Gh¢50,000.00 to Gh¢16,000.00.

Speaking on Gangaa Fm's Jirapa in Focus program, he said "we have a young man who is ready to work. If he was a bad person, he would have been staying in a hotel. But when he came to Jirapa, he has not been staying at Nambeg [Where he comes from]. He is staying in his uncle's house. He has remained humble and calm. Instead of staying in hotel for us to be paying him plenty money, he chooses to stay in his own house and eats  TZ from in his own house"

He added that " when they wanted to renovate his residence [MCE bungalow] at almost Gh¢50,000.00. He objected it. Through him,  the cost has been reduced down as low as Gh¢16,000.00 as the cost of renovation including his office and their furnishing so that he can move into the bungalow on Monday. These are the kind of persons we need to come and help develop Jirapa for us. "

He added that "As he has come, he met his colleague young man, Honourable Cletus [the MP for Jirapa constituency]. We are pleading with them to forget about their party differences and put heads together to develop Jirapa for us." He advised.

" As I sit here, I am withdrawing from active politics gradually because Jirapa politics is not helpful. You would find someone who knows what he or she is doing is wrong yet he or she wants to do it to the end simply because he or she belongs to party A or B or party C. When you are against such and you speak truth to power, you are chastised and called all manner of names on all platforms. They call you thief, that you have squandered money meant for replacement of streetlights.

He further disclosed that, the MCE and the Municipal Assembly Engineer are working around the clock to fix the poor street lighting  system in the Municipality hopefully before Christmas. He therefore appealed to the people of Jirapa to remain calm and keep their fingers crossed because the

whole Jirapa will be very bright in the few coming days.

Honourable Ebenezer Ayemah, the Assembly member for Vingving Electoral Area and Presiding Member for the Jirapa Municipal Assembly who was also on the program also revealed that the Jirapa Municipal Assembly will soon start holding its meetings via zoom.

He also indicated that Jirapa is so lucky and blessed to have two strong young men; one as Member of Parliament [Honourable Cletus Seidu Dapilah]  and one as Municipal Chief Executive [Honourable Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri]. The Presiding Member testified that "the two young men"  are not sleeping on their jobs. He noted that MP's voice of cry in Parliament is very loud and the MCE is also working hard in the interest of Jirapa.
