DBI: NDC OUTREACH PROGRAM HELD AT FIVE ZONES

 


The National Democratic Congress is currently rolling out series of activities across the country to re-organize and re-energize its grass-root to make the party more formidable for election 2024. The last two weeks have seen an outreach program in the Upper West Region as various teams comprising national and regional officers of the party engaged various constituencies to discuss various pertinent issues relative to the reorganization.

The National Democratic Congress in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency held their outreach programs on Saturday, 22nd January, 2022 at the following centers; Bussie, Fian, Daffiama, Issa and Kojokpere. The program provided the platform for various stakeholders including branch executives, constituency executives, former constituency executives, former appointees and party elders to deliberate on how the base of the party could be made formidable. 

They were two teams facilitating the discussions. Team A comprised General Marcus Rahman, Deputy Regional Youth Organizer, Hajia Memuna, Deputy Regional Women Organizer and Hon Fedelis Zumakpee, former District Chief Executive for DBI. The team A led the discussions at Bussie, Fian and Daffiama. At Daffiama, the team was joined by the regional chairman, Abdul Nasir Saani, affectionately called Chairman Bunas. The Regional chairman used the opportunity to call for unity among the rank and file of the party. According to him, he will continue to offer the needed leadership to all constituency and branch executives.

Team B was also made up of Mardhi Jabil, former national deputy organizer, Basiara Sankaara, deputy regional organizer, Issah Kantangyeri, former regional communication officer and Vivian Konko, former District Chief Executive, Jirapa. This team facilitated the programs at Kojokperi and Issa.

The Member of Parliament, Hon Sebastian Sandaare who financed the programs was at all the centers. He used the opportunity to encourage the rank and file of the party to work in unison and that our ultimate interest should be the one who seeks to bring the NDC to power in 2024.

The constituents were happy for such the platforms created to enable the base of the party share issues with the top hierarchy and again make inputs to the reorganization process. The issues that featured predominantly in the outreach program included, membership drive, biometric membership card and its registration process, payment of dues, party unity and the role expected from each stakeholder in the reorganization process.
