Coalition For Social Justice to join forces with the Youth Wing of the NDC in a protest march against E-levy.
The Coalition For Social Justice (CSJ) is set to endorse and join the Youth Wing of the opposition New Democratic Congress (NDC) to undertake a protest march scheduled for Thursday February 10th 2022.
In a release dated 8th February, 2022 signed by their General Secretary, Awudu Ishaq, they indicated that the reason for their endorsement and decision to join the Youth Wing of the NDC in the protest is as a result of the abysmal performance of the Akuffo Addo led government over the past five years in government. They described Ghanaians of being "hookwinked, pranked and deceived into putting their hopes in a political party and president that actually cared less about the ordinary Ghanaian".
They also disclosed that, the current government has borrowed than any other government in the history of Ghana and yet performed abysmally, so they think the government needs not extra revenue to be able to perform as expected.
The advocating body also stated their vehement opposition to the controversial Electronic levy popularly known as E-levy. According to them, the levy "will only visit misery and hardship on the Ghanaian people" and will also lead to job losses when the country is already suffering about unemployment situations.
They therefore call on all concerned Ghanaians to join hands with them in the upcoming demonstration in order to voice out their grievances to the president.
