Deputy Minister Of Local Government Visits Jirapa Municipal Assembly
The deputy minister for local government and rural development, Hon Martin Mensah Korsah who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Techiman South has paid a working visit to the Jirapa Municipal Assembly and some selected MMDAs in the Upper West Region.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarise with the Assemblies and to monitor and supervise government policies and programs.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Nicholas Soyiri received the minister, today, 18th March, 2022. He used the opportunity to officially welcome the Deputy Minister into the Municipality. He used the opportunity also to brief the minister on the administrative and political profile of the municipality. The development needs of the people were extensively espoused by the MCE.
On his part, the Deputy Minister acknowledged the commitment and definition of Staff over the years and urged them to continue to offer their expertise to assist the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Nicholas Soyiri to execute government policies and programmes to benefit the people of Jirapa municipal.
He also reiterated his readiness to frequently visit and interact with the staff of the municipal and the MCE in resolving issues regarding challenges of policy implementation and monitoring.
The Deputy Minister also visited the Jirapa Girls Model School to assess the progress of work. He did reveal government's intention to develop the school to make it a boarding school in future. He encouraged students to study hard to enable them contribute their quota to the development of mother Ghana.
