DBI: DCE URGES PEOPLE OF FIAN TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PFJ, PROMISES TO OPEN ROAD NETWORK...





The District Chief Executive of the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, Hon Nadi Imoro Sanda, yesterday, graced the maiden Danzena Kulugri festival instituted the Chief and elders of Fian.


Speaking at the occasion, he thanked the people for the innovative approach they have adopted to protect its customs and traditions and urged the community not to relent in making the festival a tool for development.


He again urged  the people of DBI to take advantage of planting for food and jobs as we ready for the raining season, explaining that the youth in particular must take advantage and benefit from such politicies. 


He did indicate that he has a lot of plans to helping the community catch up with development, emphasising that he would ensure that three unit classroom block is constructed to improve teaching and learning. He also promised to help the community help project, a Day Nursery, which the community has started. He encouraged the community to push that project seriously because it is so much dear to his heart. He added, any quantity of r[fing sheets that will be needed to roof the facility, he shall make them available. 


What particularly excited the people was his promise to open up town roads in the community to take care of the future development plans of the community, explaining that they were our buildings are being constructed, if planning for road network is not done now, it may be difficult in the future, with population explosion. 


He also donated some assorted drinks, Five Hundred Ghana Cedis and a football to support the program. 


Yesterday was the launched of the festival and it would be celebrated annually to commemorate the coming into being of the community as a tool of protecting the history, customs and tradition of the community. 


Hundreds of sons and daughters graced the occasions. Indeed, the event amply demonstrated the great cultural values and tourism potentials in the DBI district at large.
