Madam Kate Lankono Cuts Sod for Community Projects

The District Chief Excutive for the Nadowli Kaleo, madam Kate Lankono, together with some constituency executives of the ruling National Patriotic Party was in Toyaga and Pennintobo to cut sod for the construction of a Kindergarten and JHS block respectively.

In a statement released by the communication director of the NPP, the project will be completed in 6 months.

Below is the full statement released by the communication director of the NPP.

HON. KATE LANKONO CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF  KINDERGARTEN AND JHS SCHOOL BLOCKS.

The District Chief Executive for the  Nadowli/Kaleo District, Hon Kate Tieyiri Lankono together with some  Constituency Executive Members comprising; the First Vice Chairman, Joseph Sonnyuuro, the Secretary, Francis Xavier Kanbotuu, the Treasurer, Peter Nazoninge, the Deputy Organizer, Lawrence Bayor and the Communications Officer, Alban Kaningen N. Kpemuonye  on  Thursday, 8th September, 2022 cut sod for the construction of a Kindergarten and a JHS school blocks at Toyaga and Pennintobo communities respectively.

The Toyoga project

The  project when completed, will serve as a Modern Day-Nursery/Kindergarten school for the community and its catchment areas. The construction of this school block will serve as the first-ever  government social infrastructural project in the community since the birth of the 4th Republic.

The project has come in handy where children of pre-school age in the community have to commute for a considerable distance (4-5km daily) to access pre-school/Kindergarten Education; either at Kalsegra or  at Kpazie at a cost to the already impoverished parents.

Touched by their plights, the DCE with due diligence, short-circuited the process to allocate to the community one of the District Development Fund (DDF) projects for 2022.

It would be recalled that in time past, opinion leaders in the  community made several appeals to successive governments  through the NDK  Assembly for help but their appeals never yielded results. It takes only the Nana Addo led government through  the DCE, for the community to have a bite of the national cake.

At the sod cutting ceremony, folks of the community could not hide their joy with many asking to be woken up if they were  dreaming in their sleep! They expressed their profound gratitude to the DCE and the Assembly for bringing pre-school Education to their door-step.

Undisputably, the project will not only put smiles on their faces but it will put an  end to the "no school mantra in the Toyaga community."  Pupils will no longer walk for a longer distance to access pre-school/Kindergarten Education, parents will no longer bear an extra cost of enrolling their children in schools that are several kilometers away from the community. The DCE reiterated her commitment to making sure that the project is completed and the required human resource needed to operationalize the facility are  adequately and timely provided.

The Contractor for the project assured the DCE and the community that the  project will be completed in six(6) months time.

The Pennintobo project

As scheduled, after the sod cutting ceremony in Toyaga, the DCE  with her team traveled to Takpo for yet another sod cutting ceremony for the construction of a three-unit Junior High School classroom block in Pennintobo to absorb graduates from the primary school. Members of the community expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the DCE and her team for the fair sharing of the  cake.

It is evident that  despite the circumstances of the moment, government is still delivering on its core mandate. Fellow constituents, Let us all continue to have trust in the NPP government, our climb may be steep but with our collective efforts, we shall get there.
