DBI: Member of Parliament Challenges BECE Candidates To Produce The Best Results, Distributes Mathematical Sets...
The Member of Parliament for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency, Hon Sebastian Sandaare has challenged candidates in his constituency to produce one of the best results in the Upper West Region, in the upcoming Basic Education certificate Examination.
The legislator urged the students through a delegation consisting of constituency executive committee members and officials of the Ghana Education Service in the District.
The team extended to the students, a message of solidarity, hope and inspiration from the Member of Parliament to the students.
The team also distributed mathematical sets to all the candidates. They also reaffirmed the commitment of the MP to investing much in the education of constituents to secure their future, saying "it is the best approach to eliminating poverty in the long run"
The MP since 2017 has been helping in the preparation of candidates through sponsoring mock examinations, distribution of mathematical sets, financial support to the directorate among others.
The Director of Education, Mr. Samson Anawine Atogembero thanked the Member of Parliament for his numerous contributions and support to the Directorate to improve teaching and learning. He indicated that preparations were done already to have a smooth examination.
Records from the office of the Member Parliament indicate that he has supported about 2,000 students at different levels since 2017. He also established educational endowment fund for each traditional area and left same in the hands of the traditional authorities to manage.
This year, about 500 candidates are to write the BECE which starts on Monday, 17th October, 2022.
