DBI: MP ENGAGES IN COMMUNITY VISITATION, INSPECT ONGOING PROJECT IN ISSA.
The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency, Hon Sebastian Sandaare visited a number of communities to listen to some stakeholders on their current challenges.
His first call was Bussie (Santaayiri and Neereeyiri). He was given an urgent invitation by the youth in those sections of Bussie, to come and have an eye witness narrative of the struggle of the people for portable drinking water. The MP responded to the distressed call and what he saw for himself, struck him down. The two old wells the people have been drawing water from, were virtually out of water, leaving the women helpless. Their call on government for sometime now to provide them with some drinkable water, ended in futility.
Having listened to the people and inspected the water source of the people, the lawmaker, assured the people that something urgent would be done to salvage their suffering. "Within the shortest possible time, I will do the needed mobilization to help you. I feel so bad hearing and seeing this, myself." At least, irrespective of whatever challenge we face, access to water in a town like Bussie, should not be a problem."
The people were excited with the immediate pledge by the MP to come to their aid.
The MP and his entourage later got to Issa where he inspected an ongoing project he lobbied (building of a complex National Health Insurance Office). The Member of Parliament made a strong case on the need to have such an office to serve his people in his capacity as the representative of the people and member of the Health Committee. Fortunately, the project was catered for in the 2019 budget.
Addressing the media after the inspection, the Lawmaker demonstrated his joy over the progress and quality of work. He also sincerely thanked government for paying heed to his calls to have a befitting NHIS office for the district. He promised constituents that he would continue to do the needed advocacy and lobbying, for government to attend to the other numerous needs of the people.
Hon Sebastian Sandaare later met with some party chairmen of the Issa ward for greetings. He also visited Duang and Kparidabuo respectively to extend condolences to families that loss their relatives while he was away from the constituency.
He was accompanied by the constituency executives of his party, the National Democratic Congress.
