Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly Bridges Insufficient Furniture Gap Among Schools In The District
Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly on Tuesday 10, 2023 hands over furniture to Nadowli-Kaleo District Education Service as a measure to bridge the insufficient furniture gap among schools in the district.
The Nadowli-Kaleo District Education Service received from the assembly a total of 1,300 furniture comprising of 600 dual desks, 600 chairs and 100 hexagonal tables for 9 newly constructed basic schools and kindergartens across the district.
Speakings at the handing over gathering, the Nadowli-Kaleo District Chief Executive, Hon. Katherine Lankono who did the handing over says, there has been a problem of schools not having sufficient furniture since she assumed office in 2017, but she has been working hard to fix that problem in the district by donating great numbers of furniture to schools across the district every year and 2023 is not an exception.
She however bemoans the poor maintenance culture by the various schools anytime these furniture are been distributed which results in the insufficiency of furniture.
Hon. Katherine therefore called on the district education director to as a matter of agency caution all headteachers to handle their furniture with care and also try to fix the already broken ones.
The Nadowli-Kaleo District Education Director Mr. Kutiine Christopher thanked the assembly for heeding to their call by supporting them with furniture and also assured them of strict enforcement of good maintenance culture in the various schools.
