Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly Donates To People With Disabilities

 


The Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly, through the Disability Common Fund (DCF) Program, which is geared towards alleviating poverty among Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana has on Thursday May 11, 2023 donated items to some PWDs in the district.

Six individuals, comprising of three males and three females benefited from the donation  and the items donated includes two fridges and four sowing machines of which two of the sowing machines are for males and two for females.

Speaking to the beneficiaries, the District Chief Executive for Nadowli-Kaleo District, Hon. Catherine Lankono admonished the fact that, the disability fund is very vital to the New Patriotic Party, hence government ensures that it disburses funds for that purpose.

She however urged the beneficiaries of the program to use the items for their purpose and that they should not sell them nor use them for any non-beneficiary purpose as she warns them of doing fellow up to ensure the effective usage of the items delivered.

On the same vein, the Upper West Regional chairperson for PWDs Association, Madam Perpetuo Mwinveng also entreated the beneficiaries to use the items they received judiciously and desist from going to "galamsey" in the name of going in search for money. 

Meanwhile some of the beneficiaries of the District Assembly Disability Common Fund program thanked the assembly as well as the Social Welfare Department for the support, affirming that, this has not been the first time the assembly is supporting PWDs in the district. They also assures the assembly of using the items judiciously to their own benefits and also urged the assembly to continue supporting PWDs in the district.

Lambussie Young Stars Volleyball Club Smashes Host Team to be Crowned Champions in Azumah Volleyball Tournament
