Nadowli-Kaleo District Has Come Alive - Hon. Katherine Lankono Comments on Ongoing EU Projects in The District

Katherine Lankono has revealed that her district has come alive after over thirty years of neglect. Speaking to the press on Monday July 19 2023 during a tour on the European Union (E.U) feeder roads construction project in the Nadowli-Kaleo District, the government representative stated that, Nadowli-Kaleo District has never experienced such major roads networking for over thirty years of its creation and it is a major plus for the New Patriotic Party government and to his Excellency Nana Akufo Addo.  Outlining the importance of the project to the district, Hon. BIRIFOH: PTA HANDS OVER A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED BLOCK TO BIRIFOH SHS

The Parent Teacher's Association of Birifoh Senior High School, yesterday, 21st June, 2023 handed over a newly constructed block to the school. Speaking at a short ceremony to handover the facility, the PTA through Mr Sierzoola Robert, said that, it was a dream come true to handover the facility to the school to help ameliorate the challenge of infrastructural deficit.  He also indicated that the Association shall continue to use any levies to the benefit of the school and that they shall continue to help the management of the school to enable the school reach a boarding status.  He admonished students and teachers to take very good care of the facility.  The Chief for Birifoh, Naa Victor Debome Ganaa V pledged his continuous support for the school and that he would continue to urge sons and daughters from the area to help the school develop to its maximum. Heavy Downpour Causes Major Disruptions in Parts of Kumasi

A heavy rainfall battered the city of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana causing major disruptions for students, lecturers, commuters, and traders. The downpour started at around 2 pm and continued for several hours, leading to a chaotic situation in several parts of the city. One of the worst-hit areas was the stretch leading to the ROB at Aamusted, where students and lecturers were unable to attend lectures between the hours of 2 pm to 5 pm. The heavy rains made it impossible for vehicles to pass through the area and students and lecturers were left stranded. The situation was not much different in Apatrapa, where commuters and traders also suffered a similar fate. Several roads in the area were flooded, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through. Many people were forced to abandon their vehicles and walk through the flooded streets to get to their destinations. The downpour serves as a reminder of the need for better infrastructure to deal with heavy rainfall in the city. ...

SPEAKER SUPPORTS REAL NADOWLI UNITED WITH ¢GH20,000

  The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban S. K Bagbin has given his initial support to a newly formed Division 3 football team based in  Nadowli, the capital of the Nadowli-Kaleo District.  He did the donation through one of  his aides, Yendaw Frederick, on Thursday, 15th June 2023 at a short ceremony held at the Nadowli DA primary park where the management team and some players were present.  Presenting the cheque amounting to 20,000, the representative of the Speaker urged the team to do their best to compete fiercely to get to the top of football in Ghana, reiterating that football has become the heartbeat of the youth and that it is worth supporting.  He also indicated that it was the initial support for the team to take care of its recurrent expenditure in the ongoing division 3 league where the team is a participant.  Receiving the cheque, Mr Peter Awaab, the manager of the team expressed his joy for the singular recognition and support.   The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa is currently embarking on a sports derived project where he supports various teams in the Constituency with footballs and jerseys. He is doing this project through the NDC Youth Organizer's Office.  So far, the youth Organizer, Tampuori Desmond has donated the materials to a number of community football teams.  Recently, he has also supported the Bussie Circuit Team as they prepare for this year's basic school sports festival.  Speaking to the youth Organizer, he emphasized the need to encourage the youth to take sports seriously.
