BIRIFOH: PTA HANDS OVER A NEWLY CONSTRUCTED BLOCK TO BIRIFOH SHS

The Parent Teacher's Association of Birifoh Senior High School, yesterday, 21st June, 2023 handed over a newly constructed block to the school.

Speaking at a short ceremony to handover the facility, the PTA through Mr Sierzoola Robert, said that, it was a dream come true to handover the facility to the school to help ameliorate the challenge of infrastructural deficit.

He also indicated that the Association shall continue to use any levies to the benefit of the school and that they shall continue to help the management of the school to enable the school reach a boarding status.

He admonished students and teachers to take very good care of the facility.

The Chief for Birifoh, Naa Victor Debome Ganaa V pledged his continuous support for the school and that he would continue to urge sons and daughters from the area to help the school develop to its maximum.

Receiving the facility, the Headmaster, Mr Harris Iddrisu, thanked the community through the Chief for the enormous support they have been giving to the school. He also expressed his joy for the PTA's commitment to help the school tackle the infrastructural deficit it is faced with. He indicated that teachers and all stakeholders who played any role, to have the project,  are acknowledged and would always be remembered for their support.

He indicated that the block will be used as the Home Economics block alongside other temporary uses. He also promised that the facility will be put to good use to improve teaching and learning. He reiterated the commitment of management to working relentlessly to not only ensure academic excellence but help the school attain a boarding status within the shortest possible time.

He however indicated that the school still needs more facilities and urged stakeholders to continue to support. " Like Oliver Twist, we need more. We are therefore calling for more support to transform this school" he stated.

Birifoh Senior High School is currently a day school with many infrastructural challenges. The Headmaster, Mr Harris Iddrisu has been working with the community stakeholders to tackle this problem of infrastructural deficit. In 2019, the PTA started the above project as its contribution to help the school with the needed infrastructure. The project however stalled for sometime. The PTA's renewed its commitment and finally completed the project.

The excitement from students and teachers who gathered for the short ceremony was obvious.

Currently, the government is also constructing some other facilities, all in preparation to grant the school a boarding school.

The handing over of this facility to the school was therefore timely, in the words of the passionate headmaster who is bent at transforming the school to a hub of academic excellence.
