DBI: MP SUPPORTS FOOTBALL TEAMS, INSPIRES THE YOUTH TO EXPLORE IN THE SECTOR.
The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa is currently embarking on a sports derived project where he supports various teams in the Constituency with footballs and jerseys. He is doing this project through the NDC Youth Organizer's Office.
So far, the youth Organizer, Tampuori Desmond has donated the materials to a number of community football teams.
Recently, he has also supported the Bussie Circuit Team as they prepare for this year's basic school sports festival.
Speaking to the youth Organizer, he emphasized the need to encourage the youth to take sports seriously. He added that sports has a lot of benefits as some of the youth can develop their talents to become carrier sports giants apart from the health and social benefits it has.
He bemoaned the need for a registered football club in the District, indicating that by the support of the Member of Parliament, he is willing to push that agenda. " Now, we have many registered football teams springing up in other districts. We are yet to have one and this gesture from the Member of Parliament is the begining of many other supports so that we can collectively push the agenda to have a district football club."
The Youth Organizer also urges all stakeholders to come on board so that plans can be put in place to realize this dream.
"The district is blessed with so many talents, we have to come together as stakeholders, irrespective of our political affiliations to see how we can share ideas and place Daffiama-Bussie-Issa in the map of sports in the Upper West Region and beyond." He stated passionately.
