2024 General Election is The Republic of Ghana Against The NPP - Hon. Prosper Puo-Ire

Former Upper West Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Prosper Puo-Ire has established that, the upcoming 2024 general election is the Republic of Ghana against the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Whilst commenting on former president John Mahama's proposed 24 hour economy policy, Hon. Prosper Puo-Ire told Village Boy From DBI, during the Minority Connect talk show on Friday November 23, 2023 on Tumpaani FM that, the NPP government has failed the whole Ghanaian population which therefore calls for a change hence, 2024 election can best be described as the Republic of Ghana Against the NPP as a party.

The NDC communicator added that, John Mahama's 24 hour economy, if implemented, will reduce the unemployment rate in the country since there will be a high demand for a work force to run the various sectors for 24 hours.

Again, he said the policy will increase efficiency and productivity in various sectors of the economy such as the health sector, banking among others which will also go a long way to increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country as well as stabilize the economy.

He however expressed his displeasure over the Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's comment on the 24 hour economy that former president John Mahama does not understand a 24 hour economy because various sectors such as healthcare and security service already operate 24 hours. The NDC communicator described Dr. Bawumia's comment as unfortunate.

When being quizzed on the decision by Former President John Mahama to cancel licensure exams, Hon. Puo-Ire opined that, the idea of licensure exams defeats the teacher training system. According to him, it is not fair for a teacher trainee to pass all his/her exams for four years in the training college but do not get employment because the person failed licensure exams.

He however cautioned that, NDC as a party is not against licensing of teachers but the idea of acquiring a license by writing examination is what the party is against hence, John Mahama's decision to scrap off licensure exams.

Hon. Prosper Puo-Ire concluded by calling on all Ghanaians to rally behind the NDC come 2024 general elections.
