DORSAR JONAS (BORZIN MAN): THE FARMER WHO EMPOWERED HIS COMMUNITY WITH CLEAN WATER



On Saturday 9th March 2024, In the heart of the Upper West Region lies Balienea community, a close-knit village nestled in the Daffiama Bussie Issa District. Here, amid the vast Northern landscapes and tight-knit community spirit, a farmer named Dorsar Jonas, fondly known as Borzin Man, has emerged as a beacon of hope and generosity for his fellow villagers.


With a population exceeding 1000 residents, access to clean water has been a longstanding challenge for the community. While two boreholes currently serve the village, the need for additional water sources remains pressing, with two boreholes awaiting much-needed repairs and maintenance to ensure continuous water supply for all.


In a heartfelt display of community spirit and compassion, Dorsar Jonas recently took it upon himself to address this pressing need by investing Gh¢ 18,000 to drill a borehole, providing a vital source of clean water for his neighbors. The impact of his actions has been profound, particularly for a section of Balienea Kuso that previously relied on river water for their daily needs. The smiles on their faces and the gratitude in their eyes stand as a testament to the transformative power of a simple yet essential resource-clean water.



The community members of Balienea, while deeply appreciative of Dorsar Jonas's generosity, recognize that their water challenges extend beyond the efforts of one individual. They are calling upon government entities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to lend their support and resources to address the remaining boreholes in need of repair and to ensure sustainable access to clean water for all residents.


Dorsar Jonas's selfless act of kindness has not only provided a lifeline for his community but has also sparked a call to action for collective efforts to uplift and empower Balienea. His dedication to serving his community and his commitment to making a positive impact serve as an inspiring example of the ripple effects of compassion and generosity in creating change at the grassroots level.

Lambussie Young Stars Volleyball Club Smashes Host Team to be Crowned Champions in Azumah Volleyball Tournament
