GOOD NEWS : HON. CLETUS SEIDU DAPILAH DRILLS ANOTHER SET OF 17 BOREHOLES IN DEPRIVED COMMUNITIES
Cletus Seidu Dapilah, the Member of Parliament for Jirapa Constituency has put smiles on faces of many constituents by drilling boreholes to several communities lacking access to portable water
Apart from the drilling of boreholes, the MP has continued with the repairs of all broken boreholes within the municipality.
In a simple ceremony that was held at Wuoyiri community center on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, leadership of the NDC, Jirapa chapter explained the rationale for this mass drilling of boreholes by the Member of Parliament.
The ceremony brought quite a number of NDC top members headed by the Constituency Chairman, Hon. David Yeng, Constituency Secretary, Hon.Peter N.N To-ang, Constituency Youth Organiser Hon. Ninfaazuma Benedict, branch executives, party sympathizers, the elders and the general community members of Wuoyiri.
In a speech delivered by the party's scribe, Hon. Peter N. N. To-ang on behalf of the MP, he highlighted the MPs commitment to making life more meaningful by solving societal problems.
According to him, the lawmaker is a firm believer of the saying that, "water is life", hence his commitment of funds for the drilling of the boreholes.
He added that, the MP wants women to reduce productive hours spent searching for water and also help to alleviate the pressure on the already existing boreholes which is the cause of the constant breakdown .
The secretary revealed the total number of communities that stand to benefit from this batch of drilling from the MP includes Wuoyiri, Da-uri, Nyeni, Nyenvaari, Kompori,Jefiri, Nachenyiri,Kul-ora,Nanbeg-Naayiri, Yagha, Yibile, Katang, Ping-Wanwari, Kenee, Tuopari, Ul-kpong, and Yagha-Gbaani
He concluded by adding that this list is not the last batch and that other communities would soon also benefit from his works.
The crowd responded to the good news with claps, cheers and beams of smiles .
The elders of Wuoyiri thanked the team from the office of MP for the good news.
The Assembly Member for the area who also happened to be the youth organizer of the NDC, Hon. Ninfaazuma Benedict expressed his heartfelt pleasure for the news of Jirapa receiving another set of seventeen boreholes.
Over the years, Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah has invested heavily in the area of health, education, agriculture and sports.
It however appears this year is the year of water. If this analogy is right, then one can comfortably predict that deprived communities without boreholes in the Jirapa Constituency will be a thing of the past.
