COMMISSIONING OF BOREHOLES BRINGS LIFE-SAVING WATER TO COMMUNITIES

 


On Thursday May, 30th 2024 Hon. Francis Xavier Kambotuu, Parliamentary Candidate for the NPP in the NKC Constituency, has commissioned three boreholes in the constituency through the Northern Development Authority (NDA).


The borehole installations in Biiree, Mwindaali, and Goriyiri communities address the urgent need for access to portable drinking water for survival. The lack of a reliable water system has long plagued these communities, but thanks to the lobbying efforts of Hon. Kambotuu, the NDA has stepped in to provide a solution.


The communities expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the support from the Parliamentary Candidate and the NDA. The boreholes will significantly improve their quality of life and reduce the arduous task of fetching water from distant and often contaminated sources.


"We are overwhelmed with joy," said the community leaders. "This borehole will make a world of difference for our families. We can now access clean water without having to walk long distances."


Maria Johana Yuoporo, Regional Director of the NDA U/W/R, visited the communities to witness the commissioning of the boreholes. She commended Hon. Kambotuu for his commitment to improving the well-being of his constituents.



"This initiative is a testament to the importance of collaboration and responsiveness to the needs of the people," said Yuoporo. "We are proud to partner with Hon. Kambotuu to bring essential services to these communities."


In addition to the boreholes, Yuoporo announced that the NDA will include a school infrastructure project in its next budget for the Biiree Community. This will address the challenge of children having to travel long distances to access education.


Furthermore, Youpori promised to donate a tricycle to the women in the Biiree community to facilitate their transportation to health centers and other important destinations.



The commissioning of these boreholes is a significant milestone for the communities of Biiree, Mwindaali, and Goriyiri. It represents a tangible improvement in their lives and provides a foundation for future development and prosperity.


The Community members promise to rally behind the NPP Parliamentary Candidate Hon. Francis Xavier Kambotuu ahead of the December, 7th general Election 2024.

Lambussie Young Stars Volleyball Club Smashes Host Team to be Crowned Champions in Azumah Volleyball Tournament
