Hon. Nestor Mwinterebo writes on Nadowli/Kaleo DRIP Machines brouhaha
I must applaud central government on the DRIP project initiative. There is no doubt that it will make greater impact in our road sector and one of the best forms of decentralization every assembly member appreciates.
It is a fact that, these machines were procured by central government through the ministry of local government and decentralization. Assembly members' motor bikes are procured through same structures, the MPs V8, the MMDCEs vehicles and many other machines were procured through same means and were not branded any party colour. This is not the first time we are seeing such machines from central government.
My Hon. DCEs office and bangalow is not branded party colours neither the MPs office is branded party colours. Why are we pasting posters of party colours and parliamentary candidates on our machines? I am therefore calling on the Hon. Mp, Anthony Mwinkaara Sumah and all sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the NPP parliamentray candidate, Francis Xavier Kambotuu and the entire faithfuls of the New patriotic party (NPP) to exercise restraints and remove all posters on the machines for peace to reign in the constituency. We are one people and our peaceful co-existence is Paramount.
Should I paste my pictures on the machines if I have the capacity to fuel and reshape the Kandomwine road? Should the DCE paste her picture on them if she want to use the machines to rehabilitate the Vogonni-Duong road? The machines are largely procured using the tax payer's money in the Nana Addo NPP led administration and no one can take that out.
I therefore call on the Hon. DCE, the presiding member and our respected traditional rulers to seat the two parliamentary candidates down for peace and tranquility now, during and after the 2024 general elections.
Hon. Nestor Mwinterebo, Assembly Member for Goriyiri Electoral Area
