Doctor Michael Yelbore Makes Significant Donation to Daffiama Health Center


 


On Friday, August 8, 2025, Doctor Michael Yelbore, the esteemed Assembly Member for Daffiama North Electoral Area, made a substantial donation of essential drugs to the Daffiama Health Center in the Daffiama Bussie Issa District of the Upper West Region. This generous act is a testament to Doctor Yelbore's commitment to improving healthcare delivery in his constituency.


As the deputy director medical affairs at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and lecturer at the Tamale UDS, Doctor Yelbore leveraged his professional network to secure these pharmaceuticals from companies he had written to for support. The donated drugs include:



1. 44 boxes of Simple Linctus Syrup, which is often used to relieve coughs.

2. 44 boxes of Simple Linctus Paed, a formulation designed for pediatric care.

3. 410 boxes of Cap Abycap, likely used for pain relief or other specific medical conditions.

4. 1440 boxes of Life Tone Caps, which could be supplements aimed at enhancing overall health.

5. 273 boxes of Cap Azithromycin 500mg, an antibiotic crucial for treating bacterial infections.

6. 92 boxes of Albendazole 400mg, a medication primarily used to treat parasitic worm infections.

7. 116 boxes of Triple-Action Cream, potentially used for skin conditions or infections.


This donation is particularly noteworthy as it follows a similar gesture made by Doctor Yelbore on July 28, 2025. The cumulative impact of these donations is expected to be significant, providing much-needed relief to the indigent population of the District and beyond. By enhancing the health center's inventory of essential medicines, Doctor Yelbore's efforts will likely contribute to improved health outcomes for the community.



The Daffiama Bussie Issa District stands to benefit greatly from this initiative, as access to essential medications is a critical component of healthcare. Mr. Dery Sixtus who is the incharge for the facility received the donation on behalf of the District Health Director. He also thanked Doctor Yelbore for the continuous support he has been given to their Health facility. He also pleaded to the Assembly Member and other benevolent bodies and individuals to help connect electricity to the Daffiama Chip Compound in the District.

A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT CLAIMS 3 LIVES

  On September 16th, 2025 at around 11:20 am in Nadowli, A samyoung Vehicle moving from Jirapa to Techiman got into a fatal accident between an uncompleted fuel station in Nadowli along the Jirapa road close to a mechanic shop.  The Car with registration number AS-2684-16 had 18 passengers on board. 1 person who is a police officer going on a transfer was confirmed dead on the spot.  The remaining were rushed to the Nadowli District Hospital. Upon arrival at the Hospital, the medical Superintendent Doctor. Opoku confirmed two additional deaths bringing the told to 3 persons. The remaining 15 persons including kids are in a very critical condition at the Nadowli District Hospital receiving treatment.
