  A business mogul and party financier, Alhaji Adams Randy has successfully filed his nomination forms in readiness to run for the position of the Upper West Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress.  He was accompanied by a score of party supporters coming from different parts of the region, with majority being the party youth. Speaking to the media after the filing of the nomination forms, he promised the rank and file of the party that he will engage in politics of issues, having in mind that the party needs to be solidly united after the internal contest.   The Member of Parliament for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency, Hon Sebastian Sandaare has challenged candidates in his constituency to produce one of the best results in the Upper West Region, in the upcoming Basic Education certificate Examination. The legislator urged the students through a delegation consisting of constituency executive committee members and officials of the Ghana Education Service in the District. The District Chief Excutive for the Nadowli Kaleo, madam Kate Lankono, together with some constituency executives of the ruling National Patriotic Party was in Toyaga and Pennintobo to cut sod for the construction of a Kindergarten and JHS block respectively.   The NDC youth Organizer for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa constituency has appealed to government through the District Assembly to come to the aid of the people by fixing the several washed off roads. He made the appeal while speaking to Tumpaani Fm.  In August, 2021 a heavy downpoor caused a devastating flood disaster that washed off many roads and farms in the Upper West Region. The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa roads were severely affected.  The NDC youth organizer, Desmond Tampuori mobilized the youth in Daffiama for communal labour. They particularly worked on portions of the road along Daffiama-Duong that was terribly affected. The enthusiasm of the youth and their works in that enclave attracted public attention. Reports from the Auditor-General reveals that three non-staff members of the Ministry of Finance received a total sum of GHC 1,112,895.96 as salaries for the period January 2020 to December 2021. This is contained in the 2021 Auditor-General's Report presented  to Parliament. Paragraph 95 of the report states that during the audit exercise, the "personal files and names on the nominal roll of the Ministry could not be traced." Meanwhile, Regulation 86 of the Public Financial Management Regulation, 2019(L.I 2378) mentions that, a "Principal Spending Officer of a covered entity shall ensure that only names of personels eligible to receive payment for work done are kept on the payment voucher and keep records of the nominal roll of the covered entity in a manner that ensures that the correct amount of emolument is paid."
