  The District Chief Executive for Nadowli Kaleo District on May 14th commissioned a newly constructed Kindergarten block for the Nadowli Model Day Nursery, marking another step in the district’s push to expand access to early childhood education. The commissioning took place at around 12 noon, with traditional leaders, Education officials, parents, teachers, and students in attendance.  Speaking at the ceremony, the DCE said the project forms part of the district’s medium-term development plan to “touch all communities within Nadowli Kaleo.” She explained that the district is rolling out projects “in bits” and moving from community to community based on identified needs. “We have a lot in our developmental plan. The GRASAG Judiciary Board has annulled the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIIDS) GRASAG elections following an election petition filed by one of the contenders and 10 others.  The petitioners alleged irregularities, fraud, and a lack of credibility in the electoral register, among other issues. The petition was filed under the GRASAG constitution, which gives parties the right to challenge the validity of an election after the release of provisional results. The election was held on 2nd May 2026. The presidential race was fiercely contested between Magnus Balanoe Sunnabo and Mathew Azaang. The Digital Parliament, a popular youth group based in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, today, visited the Bahass Mental Home and Rehabilitation Center in Wa, Upper West Region, to show their support. They donated 5 bags of rice, 15 packs of assorted soft drinks, 4 gallons of frytol oil, and GHC 2,000 cash to the foundation. The founder and CEO of Bahass Foundation, Mr. Eliasu Baba Yussif, expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed for further support to complete their permanent structure, currently under construction. The foundation provides care and support to mentally ill individuals, offering food, clothing, and medical treatment. The Digital Parliament's CEO and President, Mr. Yakubu Karim, emphasized their commitment to helping marginalized groups and promised to continue supporting the foundation. Representatives of the Fian Youth Association recently visited the Fian Health Center to discuss challenges affecting healthcare delivery with staff and donate essential items, including mattresses, bed sheets, a working table, chairs, and a wall clock. The youth leaders assured the facility of their continued support and called on government and the District Assembly to expand and upgrade the health center to a polyclinic, citing the increasing patient load and inadequate space. They noted that patients often have to be treated on the bare floor due to limited capacity. The Fian Health Center serves several communities and is a critical facility for emergency services, accident patients, and referrals. The vehicle has been out of commission for over some months, and community members are urging authorities to intervene. The ambulance had previously received tyres from Azumah Resources, but they are still in use three years later, highlighting the need for replacement.
